Production process application of automotive aluminum profiles?


Automotive aluminum profiles have the advantages of light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity, gradually replacing traditional steel materials becoming one of the important materials for automotive components. The following will introduce the production process application of automotive aluminum profiles.


1、 The production process of automotive aluminum profiles mainly includes extrusion, casting, welding.


1. Extrusion: The extrusion production process involves placing aluminum profiles into the head of an extruder extruding aluminum profiles through the head. During the extrusion process, aluminum profiles undergo plastic deformation without changing other characteristics. This technology can be applied to produce various shapes of aluminum profiles, such as long rods, squares, circles, angles, polygons.


2. Casting: The casting process can be used to produce various shapes of components, shells, frames. There are two methods available for the casting process: pressure casting gravity casting. Pressure casting is the process of heating aluminum to a liquid state then hydraulically pressing the aluminum into the mold. In the process of pressure casting, aluminum liquid forms components through the specific shape of the mold. Gravity casting is generally the same as pressure casting, but lacks pressure. The aluminum liquid is placed in the mold then made into components. This method is commonly used for large-scale casting.


3. Welding: The welding process can connect two more components together to form a mechanical / electrical connection. All welding types can be used for welding aluminum profiles, including molten metal welding, heated friction welding laser welding. The molten metal welding process is completed by heating the surface of the aluminum material to melt the outer metal, then mixing the two melted metals together to form a fixed component.


2、 The application of automotive aluminum profiles to many different parts of vehicles can be subdivided into the following categories:


1. Structural applications: Structural applications include support rods, protective plates, engine brackets, suspension brackets. These components require good strength durability.


2. Interior applications: Interior applications include door handles, door panels, seats. In the interior, aluminum profiles should exhibit their material characteristics, such as metallic luster color.


3. Appearance application: Appearance application includes roof, door frame, front cover, etc. These components only need to protect the vehicle body, but also need to maintain a certain level of aesthetics.


4. Electrical applications: including electrical components, connectors, isomers in vehicles.


In short, the application range of automotive aluminum profiles is wide, the production process is diverse.
